Center board pennant exit hole in cockpit

I am a new owner of an old boat--1976 O'Day 25. The good news is that the centerboard was replaced shortly before I bought her. The bad? The plastic trim around the exit point for the centerboard pennant is broken and the line is sawing a hole in the fiberglass. Any ideas on what I can use as a trim piece to stop this before it gets bad, or is there a whole piece that runs from the line's entry into cabin through to the cockpit that should be replaced?
Thanks,
Carmen

Welcome CarmenK. If it's like an O'Day23, which I think it is, there is a plastic trim ring that slips into the hole. If no one else comes up with a picture by tomorrow I'll get one for you. Some of the O'Day 25 people will chime in shortly. You might give Rudy at D&R a call as he is the largest O'Day parts guy around. http://www.drmarine.com/default.asp

If I had to "buy" something, it would a stainless steel fairlead, roller, or the like. Is the pennant wire rope, or what? Do you have picture? It's "sawing" because it's got a variable angle (presumably in only one "plane"?

Thanks for your responses and questions.
The pennant is Sta-Set. I looked at some plumbing parts (through-hulls and drains) but diameters looked a bit narrow for the line and it would have to be modified someway. Securing it could be a problem-- the remains of the original is held with a screw. The boat is an hour away, so no pictures available right now.
