Great question!! Page 34 excerpt from your manual attached describes the CE "Craft Design Categories" and it says it is affixed to a plate on the boat. Maybe the forum knows where the CE mark is affixed to the boat as I would be interested as well. You might contact IMCI, in Brussels, Belgium for its CE design category.

Thanks HB for the post of the CE specifications. It was an interesting read.

I particularly focused on this bit in one of the middle paragraphs...
"Of course, it is strictly advised not to sail past a force 6 for pleasure yachting and no matter the class A or B. This is a matter of safety, comfort and pleasure being always present in your cruise."

Force 6...
6Strong breeze22–27 knots9–13 ftLarge waves begin to form; the white foam crests are more extensive everywhere; probably some sprayLarge branches in motion; whistling heard in telegraph wires; umbrellas used with difficulty.1591196800378.pngGale pennant.svg

I suspect many would be examining their cruising plan and be considering a sheltered harbor if one was available. That is unless they were well of shore and planning to sail through the night. Then they would be preparing for a long dark period...

If it had been in fact been CE certified, by EU law the plaque needs to be installed in the cockpit. Here in the USA that law has no effect, but I can't imagine why they would go to the effort and not install the plaque. I assume that Hunter only CE certified (due to cost reasons) boats that were intended for export; there is no other reason to do so. Its not on the list of IMCI certified Hunters.

The question of CE certification comes up from time to time and out of curiosity I searched back in 2018. At this time Marlow had purchased Hunter Marine. Attached is the copy of the certificate that I found. It expires in 2016. There is no mention of any Hunter Marine in the IMCI data so I assume that the data was updated to identify the current company name.

Take it for what it's worth as I don't know for sure that the certificate covers my 2006 H33. There is definitely no plate indicating CE certification on my boat.

Hmmm.. If you search for just 'hunter' in their DB, there are 3 pages of entries. Including one for the Vision 33, which is what I assume that cert refers to.

I didn't see one for a Vision. The Legend 33 has the same certificate number. As far as I understand The Legend 33 is the same boat with the Legend moniker (rather than Hunter) for the European market. Here is where I was searching. https://www.imci.org/3/product/show/2

Just came across this old discussion of hunters and CE certification. Very interesting.
