Cayenne pepper in bottom paint

Has anyone heard of using cayenne pepper as an additive before bottom painting their boat? I had someone tell me about this the other day, and wondered if it was worthwhile to try.

Big chemistry goes into formulating bottom paint; you know they wouldn't miss this. Years ago, this theory was tested by, I think, Practical Sailor. No benefit. I'd be more concerned about creating an imbalance within the paint formula.

Adding pepper is not a myth! It is a very conveinent way of spicing up those shellfish/kupang that grows on your hull. You can harvest and fried them, it'll taste spicy good
