Has anyone heard of using cayenne pepper as an additive before bottom painting their boat? I had someone tell me about this the other day, and wondered if it was worthwhile to try.

Big chemistry goes into formulating bottom paint; you know they wouldn't miss this. Years ago, this theory was tested by, I think, Practical Sailor. No benefit. I'd be more concerned about creating an imbalance within the paint formula.

Looking at your name I can't help but say that I hope she doesn't use cayenne pepper in her cakes. :naughty: The results would be just as bad as in the paint :D

Adding pepper is not a myth! It is a very conveinent way of spicing up those shellfish/kupang that grows on your hull. You can harvest and fried them, it'll taste spicy good ;)

How about diaper rash ointment? Equally crazy idea that a few people swear by. Might work for a few minutes...

All that does is make the baby NEVER want to do that again.
