Wow! I did a crazy thing. I finally bought my first sail boat! It's a 1974 Catalina 27. I've wanted a sail boat for years but maybe I made a rash decision...
It's in San Diego and I'm in Las Vegas hmmm.... Oh well jump in with both feet and work out the details, right? Well any way I want to have the flexability of moving it to Lake Mead or the pacific so I'm looking for a trailer. The new ones are about $6500.00 so I'm looking for a used trailer to keep the cost down. I'm thinking a couple of grand or less. I've looked on ebay and found equipment trailers that could possibly be modified but being new to this game I'm still looking for the best approach. I don't know if they can be modified or not or at what cost.
Does anyone have any suggestions or referrals.
By the way where's the best place to get the 101 & 103 Cost Guard courses taken in San Diego?
The other approach might be to find a cheap slip up the coast around Oxnard or somewhere. It would be as close for me to drive! Does any body know of a cheap slip on the west coast? Thank you kindley!
