Catalina 34 MK II salon table conversion

Hello, Can anyone tell me how to lower the salon table for use as a berth. i cannot figure it out. Thank you.....Gary

The tube below the table is designed to collapse and lower the table. Unscrew the knob and put pressure on the middle of the top of the table.

If it’s impossible to push down like Stu describes, the top plastic centering support is probably broken. Unless the internal strut is centered in the tube it won’t collapse.

If the table will not go down when you loosen the knob at the base of the pedestal, then remove all screws from the pedestal and find out what is wrong.

We have a Catalina 34 too. Putting down the salon table is extremely hard. We unscrew the knob then I literally get on the table in a seated position and use my weight (140 lbs) to push it down. I kind of sit and and jump up and down until it goes and my husband also might push at the same time. It usually works.. FYI..I put a piece of plastic on the table so I don’t scratch it.
