Catalina is rolling out a new model at the Naptown Boat Show, the 275. Its a sort-of sportboat. Not really in the J70/J80 class but its probably going to be pretty quick for a Catalina. Here's Hull #1.
Fractional rig and self-tacking blade are part of a brave new world for Catalina, along with the fathead main and asm on a sprit. Should be quick on a reach but not great in W/L races where it is too heavy to plane.
It's going to be $80K, a shocker only for people that have not priced new boats lately. I think it will be fun, and give the First 25S a run for the money. With the short keel, its marginally trailer-able. I think it will do OK. More specs. What do you think?
