My wife and I are looking at upsizing in a couple of years. We currently have a Cat22 swing keel. I have looked at Cat25 Swing Keels but would really like a Cat27. Did they make a Cat27 with a swing keel? I had a sailing buddy tell me no.

They never did. There's a segment of C25 owners who once made a very good point in a comparison of the C25 and C27 boats. They claim that the extra 2 feet isn't very much because the back end of the C27 (sorry, aft) is all air for the outboard, which evens up the rest of the boat, and that there isn't very much more standing headroom down below in a C27, so the C25 with the pop-top really gets you more headroom - you are rarely standing up down below when sailing. For boats of that size, it's a persuasive point of view. Just a thought. Stu

Thank you. I had not heard it put this way. I did not know that there was not that much difference. Maybe I should focus on the Cat25.
