I am new to the forum and a relatively new Catalina 27 owner. I bought a 1977 Standard Rig Catalina 27 in November. This is an inboard version with the Atomic 4. I had to pull the engine to replace the water jacket, which was leaking and I also will do some preventative maintenance. The aluminum fuel tank looked to be in rough shape. Rust on inside and the bottom.
I would like to replace the tank as long as the engine is out of the boat. Has anyone used the Atomic 4 gas tank listed by Catalina Direct? I also noticed the RDS makes an 18 gallon tank that might also work. The original tank is a Temco(I believe). Any advice on this would be appreciated. Thank you!
