Is it easy to remove the garage that the sliding hatch slides into? I think they call it the garage. I just would like to see what is under there. My boat is a 1980.

Never heard that expression before. Sometimes called a sea hood. And...often they are just screwed in place, unless part of the deck in which case part of the mold so it was laminated with the deck at the same time.

There are screws on the leading edge and this "hood" looks to have a flange that bends under the teak rails used for the sliding hatch.
