Catalina 27 electrical system ...

oh dear, am I having fun on my 1980 C27. after spending some time assessing my AC electrical system, I am curious if it came from the factory this way. I suspect not. from the port cockpit cubby-hole there is a Marinco plug that leads to a metal circuit-breaker box, as if from Home Depot. no good .. I am ripping it all out, but just a little curious if this was from the factory or one of the three owners before me.

Mine has the three twist marinco plug on the outside of the gunnel. I would have prefrred it in the cubbyhole, It is wired directly to a switch and from there to the outlets mounted on the shelves behind the bench seats. They used Romex wires. Pretty simple and straight forward. No junction boxes or breakers.
