Catalina 22 New Design - Dinette Table Size?

Have a 1986 Catalina 22 New Design that I purchased last fall. Unfortunately the boat is missing its dinette table. Does anyone have the dimensions for the table? Thankfully the previous owner still had all the hardware for it (just not the tabletop).

Thanks!

Call Catalina yachts and ask for tech dept, they will give it to you, they have the blueprints.

Hi Gene,

I've heard back from Catalina Tech Support but so far they weren't able to provide dimensions. I was able to find a thread on here mentioning the dimensions for a 'new design' dinette table being 32" x 19" but upon measuring the distance between the dinette seats 24 1/4" seems to be a fit (could go 24" but not sure if I'd want that much wiggle room. Athwartships, 40" looks like a maximum.

BTW - I just wanted to say how much I enjoy your Youtube videos and responses on here. From another thread, I just set up a Coleman water jug as you had shown previously and am working on the bow eye bolt reinforcement.

Thanks,

Chip

I absolutely agree with you about Gene Neill's videos. I have no clue where Tuckerton is but, wherever you are there surely is a C22 New Design near you to take measurements. Let us know your location and ask who has a New Design 22 that you can measure or paper trace the table. I'm betting someone is close to you or, even if not close, would be would be worth driving to see. Barring reaching out online, you might call your near to you marinas and see if they have a New Design at their location and reach out to the owner through them.

Hi George,

I'm in the Atlantic City, NJ area.

I just got the boat last fall and just really starting to work on her. You're right that there may be someone nearby - or at least on the Delaware River/Northern Chesapeake Bay with one.

Thanks,

Chip

Did you ever get the dimensions? I have a 1988 C22 that I could measure

No, I didn't. Started work on cardboard template. Tricky part is the port edge but I think I've got that. Weather here has been crappy so not able to cut yet.

Have some 3/4" MDO plywood from an old project I'm going to reuse. Ain't going to be pretty but it'll do.

Thanks,
Chip

I have an 1986 and am fabricating a new one (40yrs old and only one little area of delam). There is not a right angle (welcome to boat projects) and all the corners are rounded (thankfully)

Best measurements 24" at the mounting edge (get the rubber latches from CD)
Long edge (fwd) 39"
Short edge (aft) 34"
Non-mounting edge 25 1/4"

Thanks for this info uncleboom! With the difference in edges on the forward and aft sides, how much of an offset do you see on the port side (where the latches would be)?

Thanks again,
Chip

Thanks again uncleboom for the measurements. Comparing against the template I was putting together I think I'm in the ballpark. Will respond if I have additional questions. Just pulled out my port bulkhead to replace it.
