My only thoughts on not using epoxy is the future ability to take it apart. Please if someone has better thoughts on this please let me know.
not silicon...use gorilla glue ( the best thing since resourceanol glue two part mix )and clamps....use it libirally.....clean up is easy with a sharp chisel....When I put them in I will use a silicon caulk of some sort to seal all three layers and hopefully keep them from rotting again.
The Moen Renzo faucet is the one Catalina is using in the new boats (or pretty close). It's a one or three hole install with an adapter. $109 at Lowes, I picked one up for $79 on sale.By the way, if you need to replace the faucet, I used the Ikea Edsvik one. It was only $80 and has the single hole to replace the original one. And you can exchange the hot and cold labels when you hook them up backwards!

CPES penetrating epoxy would do the trick. So with all the counter tops removed I have started to cut the new counter tops using the old ones as templates. I noticed that there were small strips of wood (possibly teak) as edges for the ice box opening. Only problem was they were only the thickness of the plywood. I am going to extend these down to the full thickness of the plywood, fiberglass and ice box top. When I put them in I will use a silicon caulk of some sort to seal all three layers and hopefully keep them from rotting again.
Read the reviews before you buy. They are pretty damning. The Moen Renzo faucet is the one Catalina is using in the new boats (or pretty close). You piqued my curiosity. The negative comments all have to do with the attachment for the pull out so I just took a look (it's sitting on my desk, haven't gotten it installed yet).Read the reviews before you buy. They are pretty damning.
Bob, it meets the primary requirement -- the wife wants it.Jim,
I've had that facet in my boat for three seasons with no issues. It looks great. You won't be pulling the head out as the sinks are very small. I think I might have extended it a half a dozen times to rinse with. The problem is the hose is quite long, you could almost shower with it. I know you have that nice tile backstop which might help with the over spray.
I'd do it again.
Wow! That looks very good Roy... Who did you use?So, I got the sliders re cut in mirrored plastic, here's how they look, I did the Galley and the Head Thanks for the Idea
Thanks! I may have to give them a shout. You just have missed me. I was there working away on my hydronic heating system.I used Archer Plastics, in Port Moody, on Murray Street across from Rocky Point Park, he only charged me $20 for four pieces, cut and finished with fingerholes, easiest mod I have ever done, and it does look really nice. BTW, Rosa looked good at HS Bay today, it was quite calm today.
