Compass for Catalina 27
I have an older Catalina 27 that has compasses on either side of the companionway. They are built into the bulkhead. I've actually removed them as they need service. On my boat, there is a wooden shroud they fit into and I had to take off the wood to sand and varnish it. The compasses are made by Ritchie and are quite expensive, but they have both recessed and surface-mount units. website is (I think) www.ritchienavigation.com. I also saw a surface mount compass on ebay ,but it was not a ritchie. hope this helps. terry
