Hey, I got this 1986 40 legend pretty cheap, but I need to rebuild the interior. The previous owner had intended on rebuilding, and had saved the entire cabin interior. I need to reinstall it like a puzzle. it was partially sunk and the owner steamed & removed the interior. the carpet on the walls was removed, but i can see chunks of fuzz still showing where it was glued. This was some type of carpet, right? Thats what im assuming. Well the previous owner had all kinds of things to start the project, parts, supplies, etc, and one was a roll of navy blue vinyl. Could he have been planning to use this instead of the carpet? Im trying to figure out if thats what I should use it for, or if he had some other purpose for it, which might be better suited. the upholstery and cushions are in excellent condition, so he was planning on using it for that. I have only seen pics of a 40 interior, so im kinda going from scratch, and dont wanna make too many time wasting moves. Also, im wondering at what point in the rebuild I should install the fabric wall covering? Should I make it one of the first things i do? Im thinking it probably goes behind cabinets and settee and other things, so I should probably put it in pretty soon? WHAT TYPE OF GLUE SHOULD I USE? thanks, b

Now is a good time to do any engine or electrical

work. For gluing you use contact cement. Good luck

Spray Contact Cement

Yo Bro: I am with Paul. I would use something that is brighter (not darker). If you must I would suggest that you look at Spray Contact Cement. If you want to make the interior look really nice, consider using something like Ash or light mahogany strips (battens). You can put some insulation behind the strips for insulation and sound deadening.

I replaced the nasty carpet with beadboard

Have a look at the enclosed link to the Photo Forum. You'll see the fix I used. It's been there for two years and has help-up fine. Jerry

Where Did You Get The Bamboo

Paul: I just bought a 1978 33'. I like what you have done with your boat (the bamboo). What is the name of the product? Where did you get it? What did it cost? How did you do it? What did you use to apply it to the hull? Hell...tell me evrything.
