Just an update. Looks like my intended Canada Day splash date is not gonna happen . I've got most of the deck hardware off and ready to sand and paint but once again the weather is not co-operating. On the other hand I did manage to get the keel free'd up and it has now dropped down and sitting at about a 20 degree angle and looks as though it will come down all the way once in the water. I will have to replace the pivot bolt though as it looks somewhat questionable to me. The bow sprit will be comming off tomorrow likely in bit and pieces. And stupid me when I did the bow hull repairs I managed to plug the scupper for the anchor locker drain. Climbed in her today and discovered 5 inches of water over the sole in the v-berth. Its amazing to me how much water comes in thru that hatch. At least now I have a good appreciation as to why the drain was there lol. Oh well most cabin and deck sanding can be done with a belt sander and will go very quickly and the first few days of next week look good so maybe
. Unstepped the mast today and will make up a drawing of a steel tabernakle to take to a welder to make up. We will pin the mast in order to raise / lower it etc. I will have to step it one more time and then take measurements for all new shrouds as the current ones are to long. The fore and aft stays are good for length and appear to be in good shape as well. Once the deck and cabin are painted then I can bolt the new ports on as well. Anyhow it looking like maybe mid July she will be ready (fingers crossed).
Happy sailing,
Brina
