Can a mast be repaired? If no, where can I buy a mast for my Hunter 23.5?

I'm inclined to blame ego driven welders that have well fed lawyers mostly because I'm a cheap sailboat owner that can't afford a Death-Star lawyer. (probably wouldn't even if I could)

... It's sad that due to "Liability" reasons, welders don't want to repair the mast...
I think it's more than liability. Any skilled person would not want to apply his/her skill to a job that will fail. Of course they don't want the liability but moreover a skilled person doesn't want his/her reputation to be questioned and doesn't want a customer to come back for a re-do at no cost or reduced cost. The one choice a skilled person has that affects the bottom line is what jobs to take and which ones to pass on.

Dwyer Aluminum and Z Spar are two seperate companies. ZSpar left the U.S. but re-emerged as U.S. Spars. As a Hunter dealer, I gave the original design for the 23.5 to Hunter and worked closely with the mast designer who designed the 23.5 mast. Having introduced this boat, I sold appx 20-25% of the production line and assisted the warranty department.

when I saw the crack in the mast, I observed a three sided rectangle around the spreader bar attachment on three sides located in very critical area of the mast. The side wall is no longer level with mast as it appears to be pulled out. This is why I recommend another mast. It has nothing to do with lawyers and welders. By the way, I had shown this picture to two retired mast designers who concurred with me.

If anyone wants to be cheap trying to repair such a crack by welding, please let me know so I will not step on board due to safety
