You are talking of a Catalina 30? That's not a home-made trailer project you're talking of here! This requires a commercial rig to handle the size & weight. --RonD
I would recommend bolting or welding a C30 cradle to a flatbed trailer that can handle the weight (4 tons?). There's a free cradle listed in this conference.
A friend had his cradle converted to a trailer by welding it onto a farm trailer. It doesn't move very far, and the height is above the legal limit of 12', but for short distance moves, it works. You could have a custom trailer manufactured, but remember that C-30 weighs 12,400 lbs, so the trailer would be a mother.

Hayden, I have a 1984 Catalina 30 (10,500 lbs, I think)and have used a friend's Hunter 29.5 trailer to move my boat. We made some very small modifications (i.e., 2 wood platform spacers and safety holes drilled in the holdup struts) and it now can be used for either boat. I have used it twice now and feel very comfortable using it. We had to take my Catalina30 up and down a 300 ft. high hill (with switchbacks) each time with trepidation but without incident. The TAYLOR trailer was built by North American Mfg. of Greeley,CO. It's a nice sturdy trailer and now sits in storage at my home. We towed it with a Ford F250 diesel and it travels well. The owner at one time was willing to sell it but I would have to check with him to know for sure. I would hesitate to move my boat with a cradle arrangement. Good luck in your search.
