how Do C27 Owners Drop Their Anchors?
I Am A New Owner (2 Mos) Of A 1983 C27 Tall Rig And Launching And Retrieving The Danforth Anchor Through The Bow Pulpit And Liflines Looks Like A Nightmare!
I Thought Maybe Installing An Anchor Roller Off Of My C27 "tall Rig" Small Wood Bowsprit Would Help.
what Type Of Anchor Roller Works Best For C27 Tall Rig?

Not sure which is best but. .i kinda like the idea of a mountable bow sprit. ..not sure if anyone's tried it with success but I've seen sprit poll and anchor rollers side by side.in ads and one or two photos. ..
Id look at this sites store and on Catalina direct..to start then west marine. Or similar if close to one..

Even w. A roller you kinda still have to either detach the anchor from the rode before deploying our feed past lifeline s and roller ferling lines etc carefully. ..but still not too big an issue unless anchoring because of poor conditions. ..distress....but then practice in fair conditions helps sort these issues out quickly. .

I have been reading the book "Storm Tactics" (by Lin and Larry Pardey) and have come to the conclusion the anchor roller on my C27 is inadequate. A good roller should be strong enough to hold a pennant line for a drogue chute that pulls the boat sideways with as much force as an anchor on the bottom and have a clevis pin to keep the rode and line from jumping off the roller. Mine is deficient on both accounts.

The problem is how to mount a stronger solution. There is a lack of deck real estate near the bow to secure a large one. The stanchions for the bow pulpit and anchor locker get in the way of anything longer or larger.

Keeping my eyes peeled, though.
