Has anyone replaced there rub rail on a C27? Where did you order it from and how much did it run you? Was it tough to do? Thanks in advance for all your responces.... Dave

Rub Rail Replacement

I purchased the vinyl insert & the aluminum extrusion from Catalina (1974 '27). I don't remember the costs. The extrusion was the easy part. The insert takes PATIENCE! The finished job looks great. I did it while the boat was out of the water. First I "pluged" the old holes with 5200 sealant. While inserting the screws, make sure you don't hit any of the old holes. I used two battery operated portable drills; one to drill pilot holes, the second for the screws. The extrusion went on easily. The insert takes time. You have to work it in pretty much inch by inch. Good luck.

Rub Rail Replacement

I replaced mine a year ago from Catalina. The cost was less than $100. Easy to take out old one. Use a putty knife and heat gun to soften the material as you put it in. Careful not to melt it though. Just some heat does the trick. The whole job took no more than a couple of hours. Looks great when your done.
