I have ordered a Standard Horizon CP150C GPS chartplotter that has the ability to take a C-MAP NT+ card. The benefit of the $200 card is that it gives "more detail". What does this chartplotter lack not having the card? Can you still see ATONS, depth, and stuff without a card?

Not much without chip

I have a CP150 and love it. You won't see much of anything other then your location without the chip in. Without the chip you won't see anything more then what a generic non-chart plotter GPS will show you. With the chip you will see depth, bouys, the shoreline and generally everything that was on the chart set that the chip was generated from. Get the Map-chip.
