C-27 Petter Diesel Heat Gauge or Water Alarm

I have a 1977 Catlaina, Sail #3438 with the orginal in-board Petter AC1W Single Cylinder Diesel Engine.When I bought the boat it did not have a heat gauge or water flow alarm. I actually think they built the boat without them....Anyway, it didn't make the boat go faster so it's been low priority until the water pump impeller went out this past weekend. No damage, but it was an eye opener....Any suggestions for installing a Heat Alarm/Gauge or a water flow alarm?Thanks in advance

Petter Heat Gauge

I currently have a broken Petter in my C27 #3334 and from reading the manuals there doesn't seem to be an easy way to place a heat gauge. Try checking with the company at www.lister-petter.com. A company rep could help. BTW, How well does the engine run? I'm thinking of repairing or ditching mine. Thanks

Petter Heat Gauge

My complete Petter powertrain is out of my 1975 27C.It is now in for a complete rebuild. I am awaiting the cost to do it & I am also looking into an upgrade. My Petter is only 5 hp. I think some latter boats may have been built with 8 hp. motors. None of the gauges worked on this 27C. The person who may do the rebuildmight be the man who can help you& Jim out. If the cost comes in toohigh I will be looking to convertto another powertrain but that will be another story.
