C 27 anchor locker remedy

I am sure this has been a topic since the begining if time, I hate the idea of dropping a wet rode into a mystery area below the cubby in front of the v-berth. And then there is the problem of taking out my bow lights with the chain. I have been inthere a couple of time thinking I would get some brilliant idea, but each time I put the screws back in and start thinking on how to use a milk crate. Doesn't it deserve better. I do have a Haas pipe in the cubby and I bought a small bow roller at a yard sale. But it is such a tight fit between the teak bow sprit and the foreward pulpit stanchion. It still seems to be a pain in the anchor.

My question, still unanswered, is why the vent for the holding tank is located at the bottom of that locker off to the port side. I honestly thought the damn thing had never been installed and only noticed it one day when the anchor was out and I had nothing better to do but inspect the inside of the locker (It was a slow day)
