I have never been on a Pearson, but am considering buying a '71 Pearson 26. It has a soft spot in the cockpit floor, but seems to be sound otherwise. Do the Pearsons exhibit any sailing eccentricities that I might want to know about? Thanks, Ron
We had ours for 12 years but, just purchased a p 28-1.
Heels quickly but then settles in. Could sail down the bay and take my hand off tiller. For a 26 foot boat it is hard to beat
Ive owned a pearson 75 26w for 10 years now Its a good sailer solidly built.
One weak spot is the aluminum rudder post which corrodes out on older boats
about the soft spot in the cockpit. I would fix it. If the standing and running rigging is original I would replace it. For more info look on Dan Phieffers P26 site. Good luck with your boat
