Wow, i’ve never seen a sailboat carried so far back in the travellift before. Your keel almost outside the wheelset. Is that typical for you guys?
From the picture, it looks like the forestay is right at the cross beam of the travel lift so that is as far in as it can go. I guess they could have come from the other direction but ... maybe not.

Yea. For sure, that Travellift is at the upper length range for sailboats.

That’s why our marina has us back into well during haul out and then at launch they put us in bow out. Keeps the head stay away from the cross member.

This is launch this year.

Not sure if it's typical for a C30 with bow sprit. Last year I wasn't around when they put it in and pulled it out.
The travel lift operator is second generation owner/operator of the sailboat marina and moves almost all of the boats himself. They have four travel lifts and handle everything from trailerables to 40 footers so he has plenty of experience.
He always approaches sailboats at the bow whether in storage or in the water. In fact the entire marina is built for bow in docking with angled finger piers.

I'm guessing the bigger sized lifts were occupied and he knew that one would work for a C30.

Finally, gently placed and made ready for this coming weekend. New batteries on deck going in …
That Travelift positioning looks positively unsafe. Many of the marinas around here pick up the sailboats and launch with the bow facing out. I have never seen one picked up without having the slings pretty much centered on the Travelift frame.

First time out this year! Tried a sailing and skiing mission...but it ended up nuking that night as we were moored up at the base of the glacier and we didn't even ski the next morning for fear of avalanches. We just got nice and drunk and had a good sleep. Ended up sleeping all 5 of us inside the h22.

So you had 5 adults, mountaineering gear, skis, and full winter camping kit in a 22' monohull sailboat and everybody had a great time?!?!

That's awesome!
