Catalina 27- 1984 Grapevine
Second weekend into the project and all is looking well. I was pleased that the buff and wax is amazingly restoring the hull to near-new, or at least I think so, appearance. So far the stern and 2/3 of the port side are buffed out, and the only painting left is where the boat sits on the rollers and on the bottom tip of keel. A couple of the photos give a good before and after shot. :D

Looks good mate. What type of bottom paint did U end up using? I like Petit Trinidad, but the W. Marine junk is a lot cheaper. Although haulouts are so expensive now, I try to use the best paint I can afford! I see the C 27 doesn't seem to suffer from the catalina smile as much as the C 30 does? Although a skeg in front of the rudder would have helped steering tracking a bit. Catalina leaves such a wide gap between the rudder & hull - its just a line trap. Bet you're glad the painting is over. I always manage to ruin a pair of sneakers or pants from that bottom paint every time, even when wearing tyvek coveralls! Cheers.
