Katie Burke-Bruce Bingham
Many years ago (70's-80's), their was the Dolphin Book Club where you could buy almost anything nautical at great prices. I do not know if they are still in business, but I just about bought everything I could on "living aboard". One of the best books was "Living Aboard" by the famous nautical architects Katie Burke and Bruce Bingham. These two traveled and lived aboard extensively on the stern seaboard on a Flicka (Bingham design) before moving aboard the 35' Fantasia designed by Bingham as well. The book is more like a coffee table book chocked full of photos, illustrations (Bruce was a featured contributor to Crusing World for decades), alterations, necessities, conversions, and everything else to make living aboard comfortable and enjoyable. Not too much is touched upon engine or system issues as much as, how to make a workroom, convert your v-berth to an office, make your cockpit into a cozy outdoor room, etc. Great stuff and an excellent resource. Anything Katie and Bruce printed, drew or designed were always helpful to fellow sailors.RegardsBobCat. 30
