but I still find time to go to the boat to get out of the heat here in NW Ohio. The rudder repair worked out very well, R.W. I sat on the fence for a long time trying to decide whether to go with gelcoat or paint to finish up. Chose the paint. Put it on and cursed every flaw. Sanded and tried again and again. Said to heck with it... I'll live with it. And you know, it looks great on the boat. The minor flaws in the job are next to impossible to see in the sunlight. I may have told you earlier that the I completed the shelving behind the fold-up table in the cabin. Went ahead and began varnishing the interior wood surfaces with polyurethane satin. Next spring I'll complete it. Next major project is a tiller pilot. My wife has offered to buy it for me as a combination birthday/fathersday gift. I told her that that was really a bit much, but... (yeah, right!!) Just got back from a two day sail on Lake Erie. First day was a bummer, but yesterday more than made up for the heat and flies of the first. I applied some of Jim Willis' non-skid sealand and superglaze while I was on the boat and am very, very pleased with the results. Haven't been monitoring the Oday site lately as I have offered my services this summer to be a volunteer project manager for a Habitat for Humanity build in neighboring Ottawa County. We actually begin the build next weekend, but it has taken almost a full month to get schedules, drawings, permits, subcontractors and volunteers organized and ready to start. By the way, I broke my left heel a couple of weeks ago and have been hobbling around on one or two crutches until two days ago when I decided to go sailing and leave the crutches at home. Doctor said it would be ok to do as much as my foot will allow me to do and I can put most of my weight on it now. Probably told you more than you wanted to hear. Good to hear from you. Tom
