I do appreciate the remarks. One part of me says who cares and the other part says don't change the name unless its properly done. Im kinda screwed because it will be on land for the restoration so I cant properly do a renaming till its in the water again, and Ive already called the boat another name, and didn't know it already had a name till I called the coastguard to get the paperwork started. Crap now that I am reading what I wrote im going to have to drop a Keg in the water to fix the blasphemy ive done.

Well, if you're going to use a whole keg I'd suggest a proper kidny filtering first.

I just finished Bernard Cornwell's latest book, Warriors of the Storm. Uhtred of Babbenburg had to rename a ship he captured from the Vikings. All he needed to do was have a virgin pee in the bilge. Apparently effective.

I rename my boat all the time. Sometimes it's #%#!*+&. Other times it's @!#!$&*+.

LOL Siamese that's erotic and disturbing all at the same time maybe I need to lay off the porn sites.

Dennis I will probably say those words once or twice before the restoration is done.

preferably with Queen Elizabeth breaking a bottle of champagne on the bow, and saying the words:
Shouldn't that be Queen Victoria. I believe those were the words she used in the 1800's when this whole champagne bottle breakimg tradition began.

God save the queen.
Now breakimg a bottle can be a problem. My Grand Mother christened a USS Naval Destroyer in 1944. The bottle did not break on the first swing. Some lieutenant had forgotten to scribe the bottle and it bounced. Fortunately Grandma had a great right arm and she wound up and wacked that bottle sending champagne all over the Brass who were standing too close.

"Pouring" a little good rum on the boat and sharing it with the Roman god Neptune or the Greek god Poseidon seems a small gesture to encourage fair winds. A lot easier than a seance requesting Queen Victoria's help.

Fair winds to you and enjoy your boat whon ever she is.
