Boat US

I have Boat US, and when I had a claim last year, they were very good.

I called them a few years ago , they asked whether I had ever had a claim, When I told them I had an outboard stolen a few years prior to that they replied they would not be offer me a policy, sounded like a rejection for the prom,, Mike Bacome

Wow

Very strange. Again, I have had good experience with them -- limited though it is.

Boat in the water in April?

Picture looks great. When do you start sailing out there?

Boat US...Best and Inexpensive

Save yourself time and money, just call BOATUS, get a quote, and go for it. -Robert

My only problem w/ Boat US was

that they insisted on a full survey utilizing their own list of surveyors...resulting in a large expense.

BoatU$ Expensive and Require $urvey

Wouldn't do Business with them. They constantly annoy me with junk mail so I request a quote from them every time the contact me to remind them how bad they are. Allstate required no survey, were way cheaper and pay their claims promptly.

All strange

Standard claim -- I have no connection to BoatUS other than as a customer. But, I don't get junk mail from them, they didn't require a survey (was never even brought up), and they paid my claim major league quickly (with low deductible I might add). But people have different experiences. I realize that.

No Survey, No Problem, No Junk Mail

I guess everyone has varying experiences with BoatUS. I've never been surveyed, and when I cancelled my policy from my first boat, they provided a pro-rated refund (and even pro-rated it backwards one full month because I flat out forgot to cancel the old policy). I'll then apply the outstanding credit to the new 216 after it is fully prepped and delivered this spring. They've always been cooperative, prompt, and professional. Best of luck to all.

No Boat US Survey for Me

I just got a quote form Boat US a few weeks back for my 1994 23.5 and they did not require a survey. I chose to stick with State Farm because they were cheaper than Boat US.

Deductible

I have State Farm for a lot of stuff, and I called them first. They were a bit cheaper (but not by much). I went with BoatUS because of the deductible was smaller). I think this thread highlights the need to shop around and get comfortable with the company you are dealing with.
