I've been refinishing some of the teak inside my boat. I misplaced the $30 bottle of teak cleaner I'd bought from Waste Marine, but I had a bottle of bleach around and decided to try it. It seems to have done the job just as well as that teak cleaner. Has anybody else ever tried this? While I'm on the subject: I noticed that Waste Marine charges $2.19 for one of those throwaway foam brushes that costs .89 at the Home Depot. This got me thinking about other items. For instance, is the marine varnish really so much superior to regular good quality exterior varnish? Enough to justify the price? How about caulking?
