I am ordering a new bimini for my 1982 Catalina 27, but I can't seem to find my measurements. I believe that the measurements from the coamings (width) are 72"-73". The height from coamings to boom is about 42" and the length should be about 6'. I can't get back to the boat for a week, but wanted to go ahead and order the bimini. Do these measurement sound right? Especially the 72" width.

Hi Tim

I had a Bimini maker meet me at the boat for a custom job. I am in Florida a Bimini is a BIG deal and used often. I found a Bimini maker thru a reference thru a local sailloft. I noted your the same height as myself. If you have wheel steering I am afraid that if you order a stock bimini you won't be able to stand behind the wheel. You may want to consider if that is important to you. I think the custom job was 700 bucks but the comfort factor is priceless. I don't think they will charge you to look at it. Good luck, jack Ps, You may have to raise the boom lift a bit to get the height you desire, with a loose footed main this wasn't a problem.
