since I prefer boats designed and made by Americans. :snooty:But on some forums I saw they used a special wrench as a winch handle did not fit. Apparently there are a couple of sizes. But hey, if you like the French designs,:puke: it is your money. :D
Wow. You're got issues.

PS - My First 36.7 was designed in Maryland and built in South Carolina. But good boats are good boats, no matter where they are designed and/or built. Sorry you can't see that.

OK I get it ...

In the future I will not make fun of Liberals, Apple or Beneteau; you guys are a bit too sensitive. Some of my comments above were a bit on the lighter side and you guys took them out of context. Never been to Marion, SC but it is in the USA. Your money, your choice.

That all being said, from what I understand there are two different waste fittings and they use different size hoses and caps. There is also the issue of a wrench or a winch handle - again another distraction. I do find it pretty weird and aggravating that a BOAT THAT IS 2 YEARS OLD and cost nearly half a million dollars is built with parts that are somewhat non-standard and unavailable. I could see if this was something special, but he should be able to just walk into West Marine or any other chandlery and get the part. As I said it is not my boat, but I would be ticked off too, that just losing a stupid waste cap causes so much trouble. And yes, he could replace the entire fitting (as well as the entire hose) but the yard is telling him that some waste will enter the boat during that, they have to remove the tank to get to it and it is a royal PITA. Did I mention this was a pretty expensive 2 year old boat!

The waste and water caps use a winch handle. The FUEL cap has a socket that looks the same shape as the others, but it is smaller. They hope to prevent fuel and waste hoses being put in the wrong place. THAT special short wrench should be available from Beneteau or a dealer? Has anyone tried a West (or ?) cap fitting? Making a rainwater funnel, I found the water deck fitting takes a 1.5 inch threaded PVC fitting.

Amazing chatter originating from a simple question as to where to purchase a part. The part is what it is, regardless of whether it was disigned in France, South Carolina, or West BFE. While a "unique" part like the Amoit deck filler is different that that used on other boats, it does have its up side-the fresh water and waste caps operate nicely with a winch handle. The diesel filler does use a smaller tool, but that design has saved my bacon more than once from the eye-candy dock girls at our marina who would pump out my diesel tank if it used the same tool as my waste tanks-or worse, fill the diesel tank with fresh water. In a previous post, I noted that I "clip" the chain. Poor choice of words on my part. I cut the chain from the cap and the inside of the fill tube to allow for the pumpout fitting to be screwed into the deck plate. I did the same on all deck filler fittings. I purchased my own screw in adaptors for use when having the holding tanks empties, as some marinas tend to not have the proper sized adaptor when needed most. I also purchased an additional adaptor that I use when filling my fresh water tanks-the adaptor keeps the hose in place and does not require one to hold the hose while filling the tanks. The adaptors are clearly marked to avoid using the waste adaptor from being used (and thus contaminating) when filling my fresh water tanks.

Re: No personal experience ...

OH! I JUST REALIZED THAT THIS IS THE BOAT THAT SMOKED ME LAST FALL, but then corrected below me by one second. Thank goodness that cap was in place then or I might be accused of beating the SH&# out of his boat.

Waste Caps

Waste caps don't have chains! ;^)
My Beneteau 331 waste cap DOES have a chain, I will take a picture of it and post it next time week if I can remember.

I broke the wrench that turns the cap. The little wrench was made of plastic (go figure). Now I'm trying to find a replacement 8 point wrench made of metal like the fuel wrench. I can find the cap, but not the wrench. I plan on calling Annapolis Yacht tomorrow. Cathy Streeter seems to know how to find anything Beneteau.

I'm pretty sure your winch handle is the correct tool to use.
