Beating the heat

It was VERY hot in Minneapolis yesterday, but by 7PM it cooled to 78F and the breeze stayed up. So Jodi and I head for BlueJ and a 2 1/2 hour sail. Her first time driving the whole way. Pretty special night!

Ron & JSG, it was close to 100F and 75 degree dewpoint midday. That's hot by almost any definition. It was much better later and on the water. I'll try and bottle up some of our 'cool'... should I wait until next January?? ;^)

Picture. To be fair, this was at 8:30am. It's going up to 80 today. But with a 10 knot ocean breeze after noon. Sunny. 60% humidity(my outside sensor is a little off on the humidity - 14 years old).
Sailing starting at maybe 2:00.
Sorry, I know it gets old and repetitive for us SoCal bums to brag about the weather, but I had my share of misery in the east for several years. So now I brag.

Crew-work and hiking are BRUTAL on Cetol. Every year it gets a coat or two. And every year we rub it off.

OK after a flurry of IMs yes, Jodi is my partner. Many of you knew of (or knew) Pia; we are still friends and are still on occasion racing together; but that has sadly proven harder than we had hoped. On the happy side, Jo and I get along very well indeed, and I'm loving life.

When I bought our V-222 the teak was dry and split to the point that I just replaced all the external wood. Our current boat has no external wood which suits me just fine.

Mmmmmmmmmm, no. The only time to get much outside work done these days is from about 0500 (too early to bother tenants) to maybe noon.
By 0800 I'm drenched in sweat, and needing electrolytes.
