It's a tragedy in the US, but we're no where near having to carry a weapon and wear body armor in sweltering heat every day.

That is so true. We should all be grateful. My post was not in any way an affront to our fine, brave, men and women in uniform especially after having worn one, myself, many decades ago.
Being a mere midshipman in the bilges of this forum, I never dreamed I would see this side of Jack Daw.

One nice thing about Northern lake sailing... The water stays crisp and cool all Summer. Dropping the sails and drifting while floating on rafts on a dragline behind the boat is a real pleasure, especially if your float has a beer holder!
