Thanks to all who've taken the time to offer their opinion, advice, and particularly links to prior detailed related discussions. I think I have a much better understanding of this subject now - but need to take more time to fully read some more when I have something easier than my phone to do so on.
One question I do have in the interim though is whether or not to have an on/off switch for the power supply to the Echo-charge for longer periods when the house battery is not being charged - boat at a mooring without solar/wind/etc. I gather it consumes v little amperage but why not have the option to turn it off?
