Agreed, but that voids the warranty. My thought was I'll get an outdoors extension cord, cut off the female plug, and hard wire IT. Once the warranty period is over, I'll do exactly as you suggested.
Sooo, I bought a replacement plug for an outdoor cord, and installed (well, a friend of mine who used to wire Blackhawks did). After warranty expires, I'll hardwire the sucker in.
