Like Ziradog, I too have some issues with my Barlow winches on an O'Day 23 - 2. Can anyone recommend a direct bolt on replacement? Thank you.

I replaced my Barlow with Lewmars which also had 5 mounting holes and different centers. I installed the new winches by placing the new bolt holes between the old holes. There's more than enough fiberglass "meat" in the space between the old holes. To be on the safe side you can put a large backing plate and fender washers underneath. I used 1/4" ply.

When installing my new winches on my 25, I found plywood reinforcement already imbedded under the winch area. Not sure if the 23 has the same or not.
