Hello,
I have a Barient 8P winch (Winch Service Manual for Barient No. 8P) that is jamming. I disassembled it, and it seems that the two lower pawls (and springs) can side in and out of the pawl holder (laterally, see blue arrow in photo). The top two pawls are slightly loose but are held in their holders still. I believe it is this movement of the pawl out of the holder jamming the winch. The top and bottom pawls look about the same (no more or less wear), so I believe the bottom pawl holder is worn down and wider than needed.
Anything I can do about this? Some sort of sheath/insert? Or do I have to buy a whole new winch?
Thank you!
