Does anyone know of a common vendor for "Bar Keepers Friend" Cleanser and Polish? Seems that I can order it online, but would prefer to purchase it at a common hardware or marine outlet.

Grocery Store

Jerry, Here in Washington DC it is sold at the gocery store. Same place where household cleaners are located ie. soft scrub & comet etc. This stuff is great for cleaning your pans. Allclad reccommends this product to clean their pans. Good luck. Jim

Pretty common

You might contact them & find out who a local retailer is. You should be able to find it at Vons or the like. LaDonna

Any Grocery Store

Barkeeper's Friend is a simple, fine-grained powdered cleanser (like Comet or Ajax, but less granular). Here in Portland, I have found it in Safeway, Albertson's, and other major grocery chains in the same section as Comet and Ajax. It comes in a gold and blue can and is usually less than $1.50.

Best stuff around

I've posted on here many times about BKF. As everyone has said, you can find it at most grocery stores. You might try looking in the section where grill accessories and charcoal is. For some reason, certain stores stock it there. The cleanser also contains something that removes rust. I'm not sure what the ingredient is but works great.

One More Thing...

By the way... while BKF is great for cleaning marks off gelcoat, remember that it is an microabrasive. In other works, it will probably dull the gloss on new gelcoat and will definitely remove the wax (assuming there is any on the boat to begin with). In other words... you should apply wax (or whatever else you use to protect your boat's finish) ASAP after using BKF to clean gelcoat.
