I would like to replace the lower shives for the halyards. Access is to only one side of the axle shaft for the 2 shives. Looks like the other end is pressed into a blind socket in the base of the mast. Can I drill a small hole in the mast to the other end of the shaft (which is in the base of the mast) and drive it out with a small rod?

To make searching and identifying your request easier, best change the spelling in the title. Sheaves.
Lots of Hunter owners lurk here, so by any name someone should have a suggestion!
Good luck.

Dave, I am guessing that it would be the Hunter 28.5 he identifies in his avatar.

Is there a small screw near where the internal end of that pin is? I'm trying to remember if it threads into the side of the pin to retain it.

I've replace mine on the H26. The pin is held in with 3M 4200. For me this was the right tool

Grab the pin... you might need to break one of the sheaves to make room to get a good grip of the pin. Then start gently twisting and pulling and be patient. It will slide out. Clean it up and pull out the old 4200 with the plyers. Replace with the same
