I have a route established on my Zeus unit. However, I cannot figure out how to have it automatically advance the waypoints as I advance in the route. It is not interfaced with the AP yet. This is simply for purposes of navigating. Surely there is a way. It must be really simple!

Rick. When I'm in doubt I look at the manual. Looks like you set the rout waypoints, then select the route, activate it,then off you go.
Here is what the manual says.
Navigate a route
You can start navigating a route from the chart panel or from the Route dialog.
When route navigation is started, the menu expands and shows options for canceling the

navigation, for skipping a waypoint, and for restarting the route from current vessel position.

Starting a route from the chart panel

Activate a route on the panel, and then select the route navigation option from the menu. You can select a routepoint to start navigating from a selected position.

Start navigating a route from the Route dialog You can start navigating from the Route dialog, activated by:

  • Selecting the Route tool from the Home page

  • Selecting the route details from the menu

Yup. But doesn't advance . And it doesn't say it does either. Surely it should. If I manually select the next waypoints in the route, it provides the nav data but then it quits the route. If I have the route selected and following, it is highlighted and looks like it should do what you would expect...except it doesn't.

Strange. Does your GPS work?

Are you getting a GPS signal?

Vessel symbol.
When the system has a valid GPS position lock, the vessel symbol indicates vessel position. If no GPS position is available, the vessel symbol includes a question mark.

Rick. Looking at the install manual for the Zeus3 it looks like you need to provide a GPS signal via Nmea 183 from an antenna. It does not appear Tone included in the unit.
Pretty neat MFD though.

Which of the Zeus models is it? These are like puzzles. There needs to be an answer.

Is it possible you need to hit the "clear cursor" at the top right of the screen? I'm wondering if it is staying on the screen the cursor is on instead of advancing?

It's also possible that you didn't go over the waypoint itself, just near it, so the device thinks you still need to go there. There is a way to adjust the arrival radius so that it will realize you got to the waypoint even if you didn't go directly over it. Check in the settings for that and try to increase it.

There should also be a menu option to skip ahead through the route. What happens if you try that? (When looking at the chart, Menu -> Navigation -> Skip)

Rick, FYI I have the same issue with a Simrad system; sister to your B&G. My Navico Simrad NSE12 will not advance a route. The routing feature seems to simply be a list that you can access and select. Suggest you contact Navico and report out, I would be interested in what the logic may be.

The Raymarine Lighthouse software / AP will not advance to the next leg of the course without manually acknowledging a popup. The manual says it is a safety feature.

Did that. Didn't change anything.

Didn't try the skip. But then, that's a manual option if it works. Still, it would be an improvement.
I intersected the waypoint marks and have the radius adjusted.

You know, maybe it is just a line on the chart and nothing more. They sure make a big deal out of it for that. What is annoying is the navigation data doesn't update. It looks like I need to call them.

Yes, that's the way my old Raytheon works. But at least I get a pop up.

Apparently no voice support option. I sent an email inquiry. Will post the response.

That's disappointing. I've had good luck calling Navico in the past for tech support.

What model Zeus is it? We have an NSS 8 which is equivalent to at least some of the Zeus models and it definitely walks through the route. I guess that's not universal since Gunni's NSE 12 doesn't.
