Seems most posters around here are male - along with other sailing related sites I frequent. I've always appreciated how fortunate to have an Admiral that not only looks really good but is all in on the sailing thing.
Last weekend we were out for 3 days in winds 15-30 knots the entire time (not the best Admiral weather). On Sunday morning I was feeling a little under the weather and we decided to recover the boat a little earlier than usual. After beating to the dock and and the usual high wind recovery drama - dasbOOt was on the trailer in the lot waiting for de-rig. I was nauseous so after throwing up a couple of times the Admiral told me to go lay down in the truck for a while - which I reluctantly did.
After a while I got my lazy butt up to derig and got out of the truck just in time to see the Admiral coming around with the 90 lb. outboard in her arms heading for the truck bed. Wow.
I found that she had rigged the gin pole system, baby stays, harness's, got the mast down (in 25 mph gusty rain/wind), keel lowered, and motor off. If our darn tabernacle wasn't so bendy she would have gotten the mast bolt out and had the mast in travel position. I was stunned. 10 minutes later we were on the road.
She didn't think it was that big a deal but for some reason I do.
Tell me your awesome Admiral story please.
