Looking in to doing a fresh water cooling conversion in a 1983 C-30; first issue to deal with is lack of space between the flywheel housing and the forward end of the engine enclosure(settee). Would like to hear from anyone who has done this job short of pulling the engine.

Freshwater Cooling

I have a 76 Catalina 30 with a freshwater Atomic 4. The exchanger is mounted to the port side of the engine. The fresh water pump runs off of the distributor housing on the aft starboard side of the engine. There is nothing extra mounted on the flywheel end that would interfere with the settee housing. I did not install the system so don't know if it was done with engine in place or not. Don
