Applying Cetol question

I have done this before but didn't like the high gloss. I went back to just using the satin finish the next year.
Did you strip off the gloss before applying the satin finish or did you just apply the satin over the gloss?
We have gloss as our most recent coat but can only buy the satin finish in New Zealand. Trying to decide if we have to strip it all and start over or if we can apply the satin over the gloss.

Not sure about Cetol but with regular varnish the satin can go over the gloss. It’s pretty common to use undercoats of gloss for their transparency and then the top coat with satin to reduce the glossiness.

I would use a natural bristle brush as the directiond say. I have used foam with good results but watch for bubbles. the chip brushes tend to shed bristles.
