We have a WinchRite for my wife's use, and we are very happy with it. The WR is compact, and enclosed in a durable plastic case which won't scratch, chip or dent your boat deck or brightwork.
A couple of things to keep in mind:
It has considerable torque, and you need to be prepared to hold it with the same force required to turn a winch handle, and
Any kind of aid like the WinchRite, a Milwaukee driver, or an electric winch can potentially camouflage when something jams and you should to stop winching. You need to stay vigilant when using them, to make sure halyards aren't wrapped, etc.
We certainly wouldn't discourage someone from considering a WinchRite.
