I would go with the Sta-Lok-- have used them before and, once you've done one, any other size that's close seems like same-old, same-old.

As an aside, I would suggest carrying a couple of Sta-Lok fittings, regardless of what kind you usually have, as emergency/just-in-case spares. They're not fun to install when the boat is bucking around in Force 7; but once you're safely into calmer waters and a calmer head, you can take the halyards and topping lift(s) you used to keep the rig up at the time and re-rig yourself with plenty of security to get home from wherever.

Having a system for approaching a potential problem like this, even if both system and problem never materialize beyond the contemplative stage, is always better than encountering the problem in real life when you don't have a clue. In the marina this afternoon, my wife and were heading out the gate to go home. We noticed a man working on a beautiful boat, all nice and shiny (on the hard). When we asked what it was, he told us Pacific Seacraft. We complimented its appearance and his hard work. His reply : "actually, I`ve just sold her and hope to settle this week, hence the cleanup. I want my life back !!" Aint it the truth!!:)

Please excuse me ignorance but what is a yeungling?

I am replacing my staysail stay and went with the mechanical fitting on the lower end of the wire. I will find out next week how well it works. Good luck with yours.
Clearly the answer to Ed's rigging dilemma is Norseman or StaLok fittings AND Yuengling! :D
