According to one report, the report said "Investigators using the boat's radio signal and radar believe the call came from an area about 60 miles west of Monterey."
But I do not buy that. I am not sure of this, but 60 miles for a radar return, over the curvature of the earth, shot from what, a P-3? If they had a radar return, they should have the vessel or location of a debris field.
I think the report is wrong.
