I believe the black caulking between the teak is called Sikaflex.
When I apply my 3 coats of Cetol to the teak does it matter if I brush it onto the caulking or should I just put it on the teak?

I assume that this is on your deck/seats? If it is you really should not use Cetol on this area at all. You will lose the non-skid effect of the teak.

I use Cetol Marine Light on my teak seats and they don't seem to be slippery.
I have put the Cetol over the teak & the black strips but found the black sections too flexible and the Cetol tended to flake off.
It takes alot longer, but I now apply the Cetol to only the teak sections. Cutting in along the black strips and using a Q Tip to wipe up any slips.
I use a 2" disposable foam brush and masking tape around the outside of the teak section of seat.

Save yourself a lot of work, don't use anything at all. Just scrub the teak with salt water and flush it off. about once a month is enough to keep the teak looking like new.

Have a new discovery although it's not new to the market....Teaqua....goes on easy, non-slip, looks great & lasts. A good scrubbing cleans it off with a quick re-apply by brush or roller about every 2 years. Shelley (Knotta Yachta 2).

In my town they have placed a couple of dozen teak benches for public seating. They have been in use now for about ten years and the only care they get is some rain now and then.

After several near misses with death (or at least serious injury) while stepping on the slick finish with wet feet on a previous boat that had Cetol finish, I sanded the seats (and swim platform) back to bare wood and switched to teak oil. When I ordered a new boat, I had them leave the wood areas on the seats unfinished and started my twice/three times a year oil routine. Even in the hot Texas sun, I can generally keep the wood protected and looking good with a cleaning and oil treatment ever four or five months.
