After several near misses with death (or at least serious injury) while stepping on the slick finish with wet feet on a previous boat that had Cetol finish, I sanded the seats (and swim platform) back to bare wood and switched to teak oil. When I ordered a new boat, I had them leave the wood areas on the seats unfinished and started my twice/three times a year oil routine. Even in the hot Texas sun, I can generally keep the wood protected and looking good with a cleaning and oil treatment ever four or five months.
